Culture Toulon

Toulon's AVF (Accueil des Villes Françaises) is a voluntary association dedicated to helping newcomers integrate into the city. The AVF offers a variety of cultural, sporting and leisure activities throughout the year. The association's volunteer members run these activities in a friendly, convivial atmosphere. There is a vacation atmosphere at the Port-Marchand Media Library. Moored near the swimming pool of the nautical stadium, in the Mourillon district, it invites you to travel, with its palm trees in front of its facade and its view on the port. People come here to learn, to revise, to relax, just to consult books or to borrow some. In its luminous aisles, novels rub shoulders with comic books, practical guides, CDs and DVDs. On the digital side, computer stations and Wi-Fi access are available to users. Throughout the year, the library hosts a variety of events.

In the heart of the Saint-Jean-du-Var district, near the church square and the town hall, stands the Médiathèque La Roseraie. Housed in the municipal center of the same name, it has offered since 1988 a musical collection composed of CDs, musical DVDs, and musical books that has been constantly enriched. In addition, it offers, on its 800^m2, more classical collections of novels, magazines, practical guides for children, teenagers and adults. Board games and computer stations connected to the Internet are available on site. Animations all year long.

Located on the edge of the boulevard des Armaris, near the hospital, the Sainte-Musse Media Library is housed on the^first floor of the House of Public Services. Its neighbors are the town hall, two crèches and a social and cultural center. Within its walls, 120^m2 of varied collections of novels, comics and practical guides are regularly enriched. The establishment is also referenced as a resource center for illiteracy in the PACA region and therefore has documents for professionals. All year long, animations are proposed.

Housed in one of the wings of the Museum of Art building, the Toulon Museum of Art Library offers an unforgettable journey. With its long shelves filled with old and rare books, its woodwork, the atmosphere plunges the visitor into the heart of a historical novel. In its documentary collection, researchers and students will find a collection of history and culture on Provence, a collection on the history and civilizations of the Maghreb and a collection of works on the history of Fine Arts. A museographic space pays tribute to the cabinets of curiosities.

The Pont-du-Las Media Library is a cultural center for residents living near the Palais des Sports in Toulon. It offers a wide range of reception, reading and entertainment services. Spread over 800 m², it manages a collection of more than 25,000 multi-media documents: books, magazines, comics, heritage collections, CDs and DVDs. A digital space gives visitors access to ten computer stations, including four dedicated to video games. Throughout the year, the team organizes activities and an auditorium hosts screenings.

Built on a former hospital wasteland, in the heart of the Creativity and Knowledge district, the Chalucet Media Library offers since 2020 a reception area for reading and entertainment. Spread over 4,800 square meters and bordered by the Alexandre^1er garden, visitors will find books, comics, magazines, CDs and DVDs covering all fields of knowledge. It is possible to watch films on the spot, to surf the Internet, to play board games and video games in dedicated areas. Animations all year long.
