At the head of Domaine Seilly since 1990, Marc is diversifying the production of his family estate, founded in 1865. Vendanges Tardives and Sélection de Grains Nobles are among the most popular. Delicate and refined, these cuvées will win over connoisseurs and even the most reluctant. The Pistolet wine is exclusive to Domaine Seilly. It was born of a visit by Emperor Ferdinand I in 1562, who was astonished by the reaction of Obernai's First Magistrate, who refused him the best vintages then intended only for the town's inhabitants. The Emperor then gave him a pistol as a gift, asking him to"hand it over to a braver man than himself, if it were possible to find one"! All bottles are available for sale in the boutique, and Marc will be delighted to show you around his cellar by appointment, to admire the imposing oak tuns. And what's more, the wines are produced in an environmentally-friendly way, thanks to ecological cultivation and careful treatment of the vines.
