This church is a landmark of Provencal Baroque architecture

Long known as the cathedral by the inhabitants of the picturesque Miroir aux Oiseaux district, the Madeleine church - listed by the Monuments Historiques in 1947 - is a high point of 17th century Provencal baroque architecture. The Virgin and Child and the portal, classified since 1908 and magnificently sculpted, are particularly noteworthy. As you enter this majestic place, don't fail to look up at the ceilings with their polychrome arabesques in the Louis XIV style. The altar is also worth a look.
