A fortified town of ancient Provence, Cabriès has its name as cabre, the goat. The municipality is located in the area of riantes hills between the Plateau plateau and the chain of the Star. Picturesque village perched on its rocky outcrop, with narrow streets, dominated by the mass of its old castle to the original bell in an extension of the defensive tower of the gateway to Haut-Cabriès. The medieval castle of Cabriès, the last remains of the painter Edgar Melik, houses a permanent exhibition of his works, but also the Gallo-Roman remains discovered on the commune and temporary exhibitions. We have to see the chapel Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette and the church of the village, a novel jewel (th century) which houses remarkable religious furniture. As for the castle of Trébillane, former th century Provençal manor house transformed into a home of the associations, it is a recommended stopover since it welcomes the tourist office.
