BOOK CITY
A major cultural area of Aix-en-Provence and the country of Aix, the Cité du Livre occupies a former manufacture of rehabilitated matches. The pole continues by the Black Pavilion: Aix Choreographic center and the recently built Darius Milhaud conservatory. The nerve of the city of the book is the municipal library. Several entities are added: the centre Albert-Camus, a research centre dedicated to the archives and work of Albert Camus, the opera and dance video library, a university pole (the ITU Trades in the Book). The Cité du Livre is a place of interdisciplinary culture and a multimedia pole with a projection room, amphitheatre and exhibition spaces. It hosts associations and creators in residence as well as the Image Institute and the Saint John Persia Foundation. Add to this panel: workshops, internships, meetings of the Tale, projections, exhibitions, concerts and performances in the glass hall. A living place! Since 4 July the hours have gone from 14 am to 19 pm until the end of the work.
