Hotel restaurant close to the Rotonde and Mazarin district offering a brasserie-tea room and bar in Aix-en-Provence.

The entrance to the hotel is through the brasserie. Cordial Parisian atmosphere for this address which dates back the Sixties. It was in 1936 that Léopold Bonnet bought a garage named Saint-Christophe and transformed it into a restaurant, Relais Saint-Christophe. But it was not until 1956 that the Bonnet family acquired the upper floors located above the restaurant in order to transform them into a hotel. Since then, the hotel benefitted from various renovations. The rooms, a little small, are modernised little by little. We appreciate the privileged location (the hotel opens onto La Rotonde and the Mazarin neighbourhood) and the presence of the (fee) car park allows you to forget your car. On the ground floor, the Inhabitants of Aix and tourists benefit from Léopold, a bar, tea room and brasserie where it is good to be in a cosy quiet in comfort.

1. Location, accessibility:
The hotel is close to Piazza Mihabo, the center of Aix-en-Provence, so you can also take a late night stroll. It is located a 10-minute walk from the train station and the intercity bus terminal. Because it is a central street, there are a lot of city buses. There is also a theater within a 3-minute walk.

2. Rooms & restaurants, other facilities
1) Room: I stayed in a family room. It is a duplex structure with a sofa on the first floor and a bed on the upper floor. The ceiling was two stories high and the windows were high. The interior is mainly in pale pastel colors, like the Provence region. Photos of Cezanne's work are also hung on the wall on the first floor. The corridor to the room is also full of Cezanne's atmosphere. A picture of Cezanne's Mount Victois hangs behind the reception desk. Overall, I like the atmosphere of the room with a simple yet cozy atmosphere.

But I don't like the bathroom. Both the structure and the interior look rather old and cheap.

2) restaurant
The restaurant on the first floor, located to the right of the hotel entrance, has an open window, making it a good cafeteria. The red-focused classic interior makes it okay to come just for coffee, not for meals.
However, breakfast was insufficient. The bread was flaky, and the food was tasteless. Breakfast is not recommended.

3) Other facilities
As this is a 3-star hotel, there are no other facilities.

3. Service

Service is okay.

4. Price

When I went, the price was also reasonable (walking in price). However, when I searched with Booking.com now, the price is almost doubled even in the off-season. I would prefer to contact the hotel directly to find out the price.

5. General review
If the price is between $100 and $130, I'm willing to revisit the Family Room.
