Twenty-five years after the first exhibition devoted to ancient Egyptian art, the Musée Granet's entire Egyptian collection is presented to the public as part of the Pharaoh, Osiris and the Mummy exhibition. Visitors will discover more than 200 high-quality pieces as well as works on loan from the Louvre Museum. For your information, the Granet Museum inAix-en-Provence has one of the largest collections of ancient Egyptian art. The time is also well chosen as we are two years before the bicentenary of the discovery of hieroglyphs by Jean-François Champollion. Among the works to be contemplated in great detail, low reliefs of the Great Pyramid of Cheops, a sarcophagus and its mummy, several steles of the highest order or the royal colossus of the lineage of the pharaohs Ramses. It should also be noted that the exhibition is completed by numerous digital devices accessible to all audiences, around the major Egyptian themes.
