NOTRE-DAME-DE-L'ASSOMPTION COLLEGIATE CHURCH
Baroque gem: the Count of Tende's church with its starry sky.
On the road of the Nisso-Ligurian baroque, this monument is worth a visit. Its construction was ordered by the Count of Tende, Honoré Lascaris I towards the end of the 15th century. A Renaissance-style portal in green stone from Tende was completed in 1562; it represents Christ surrounded by the twelve apostles. A deep blue starry sky decorates the whole central vault. The organ case from 1673 was renovated in 1807 by Carlo Serassi and is one of the Italian organs of the Roya.
