Family restaurant with private beach where you can enjoy inventive and traditional cuisine while enjoying a beautiful view
The family restaurant L'Hippocampe has been doing everything possible since 1963 to satisfy you! Here, all your senses are awakened. First the sight, since we propose you to lunch or dine with an unobstructed view on the whole bay of Menton. Then the sense of smell, where the iodine air takes you into another universe, and finally the taste of an authentic, inventive and traditional cuisine. The most difficult thing is to choose! In the summer, extend your relaxation and pleasure by renting a deckchair: relax on the private beach located below the restaurant.

Excellents poissons flambés au fenouil, menus très raisonnables et une vue exceptionnelle sur la baie de Menton. Un incontournable !

Le site et la vue magnifique l’ambiance gâchée par la nervosité de la patronne qui a carrément insulté son jeune serveur pourtant appliqué et qui est même venue le dénigrer à notre table. La nourriture très moyenne.

Une vue à couper le souffle doublée d’une cuisine raffinée. On y a été très bien accueilli et tout s’est passé parfaitement de A à Z. Les plats de la mer sont excellents et les portions généreuses. Nous y retournerons très volontiers. Un conseil : n’attendez pas le dernier moment pour réserver!

Bella posizione sugli scogli fronte mare. Per recensire il pranzo sono un po' in imbarazzo. Siamo stati accolti in modo freddo ma professionale. Ci hanno offerto un antipasto che lasciava ben sperare: ravanelli, olive, Pane, burro di qualità e una specie di panna cotta alle capesante con scorza di limone che non ho apprezzato x mio gusto personale. Dal menù abbiamo scelto la zuppa di pesce al costo di €50 e la grigliata al costo di 44 euro. Ci sono stati serviti un piatto fondo contenente una zuppa condita pesantemente con zafferano e curcuma che coprivano completamente i sapori del pesce in esso contenuta. A dire il vero dopo qualche cucchiaiata questo Sapore Intenso di spezie rendeva nauseabondo il piatto e non lasciava spazio al pesce che sicuramente era fresco. Il piatto di pescato alla griglia conteneva due gamberoni, Delle Capesante crude, due filetti di pesce di cui uno poco cotto, il tutto accompagnato da un purè di carote, finocchi lessi e da una ciotolina con della salsa tartara. Onestamente al di là della vista meravigliosa di questo posto non salverei nulla e sicuramente non ci tornerò. Tenendo poi conto che abbiamo lasciato quasi tutto nei piatti ma abbiamo speso €130 credo che non tornarci sia al minimo
