Cathedral of Sainte-Réparate in Piazza Rossetti, listed as a Monument Historique, with 10 chapels and 3 organs inside.

Situated on the pretty Place Rossetti, this former Benedictine abbey, inspired by the Church of Saint Susanna in Rome, is one of Nice's most important examples of Baroque art. Listed as a Historical Monument, it is the seat of the Diocese of Nice. The cathedral is entirely dedicated to the city's patron saint, the young martyr St. Réparate. Inside, ten chapels, the choir's marble balustrade, three organs, gilded friezes and stuccos by Italian artist Pietro Riva.

I found Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate while exploring Old Nice, and it truly stopped me in my tracks. The Baroque interior is stunning golden details, calm light, and a deep sense of peace.

It’s not large, but it’s full of soul and history. I’m glad I stepped inside.

Worth a visit. North Americans just can't imagine the age and impact such buildings have on locals. Beautiful building and impressive interior.

Vestige baroque , cette cathédrale surplombe une petite place animée et bordée de restaurant ..un passage obligé en arpentant les ruelles du vieux Nice
