The château, with its unrivalled sea views and beautiful gardens, is a major tourist attraction on the Côte d'Azur.
A major tourist attraction on the Côte d'Azur, this red-stone château once belonged to the Counts of Villeneuve. It was bought in ruins in 1918 by Henry and Marie Clews, an American artist couple with a passion for art. Seventeen years of restoration followed, during which the château and its towers were rebuilt in a beautiful neo-medieval style. Today, the Clews Centre for the Arts supports and inspires international cultural exchange and artistic creation. Thanks to the new owners, this jewel of heritage has once again become a truly exceptional place.
The château's grounds are magnificent, covering three hectares of sumptuous French-style gardens with small areas of Venetian, English and Italian influence. Along the central avenue, visitors can stroll, if not get lost, through lush green avenues, ponds and flowerbeds. The gardens have been awarded the national label of Remarkable Garden and often host temporary exhibitions.
After exploring the château and its grounds, a stroll along the waterfront overlooking the Bay of Cannes is a must. To turn this day of discovery into a cultural and culinary experience, the nearby restaurants are the ideal place to enjoy a drink or a meal with your eyes in the water. Château de La Napoule is an iconic Côte d'Azur destination and a must-see for all visitors.
