JARDIN EXOTIQUE
Petit Futé's opinion on JARDIN EXOTIQUE

Here is a Garden of Eden, an earthly paradise perched at an altitude of 429 meters above the Mediterranean. Discovering it is worth it: you have to walk on steep slopes and don't be afraid to climb steps by the dozen. Located at the foot of the ruins of the old medieval fortress of the 12th century and labeled Remarkable Garden, the site combines the beauty of art and nature. Hundreds of Mediterranean and subtropical species mix their shimmering colors and amber perfumes. About fifteen "earth goddesses" signed by the sculptor Jean-Philippe Richard will be your hostesses for an artistic journey between botany and poetry. Once you reach the top, the breathtaking view of the Côte d'Azur coastline, from Saint-Tropez to Italy, is worth the detour alone. A must-see, not to be missed.
The southern part of the garden is a warm and dry area created in 1949 which presents a collection of cacti and succulents, some of which are rare specimens at this level of development on the French Riviera.
The northern part is more Mediterranean and subtropical. Shady and humid. The visitor walks between interlacing stairs, alleys, plant pockets, rocks and courtyards discovering myrtle, rockrose or arbutus, among others. You will also be seduced by the caves with stalactite from which flows a thin stream of water and small waterfall.
The zen area is planted with subtropical species with a misting device, a bench and a pergola facing the Mediterranean.
