Museum housed in the former Couvent de la Présentation, with a superb chapel decorated by painter Jean Carzou

In 1984, Manosque had the 19th century Convent of the Presentation restored with the intention of having a contemporary paint an Apocalypse according to Saint John. Jean Carzou's work began in 1985 and lasted 7 years, ending in June 1991, when the Carzou Foundation (created in 1988) opened it to the public. The artist has represented theApocalypse of our time: like the fear of the year 1000, he shows the fear of the year 2000 by representing the intense technological development, the dehumanization of the earth, the great trials..

Un lieu qui est ouvert du mardi au samedi donc qui ne peux être visiter par les personnes qui travaillent. Bien dommage !
Dommage que vous ne fassiez rien pour le tourisme et pour faire croître cet endroit.

Small and quick, but beautiful and insightful paintings!
