This is one of the most remarkable vestiges linked to the success of the Mexicans in the Bercelonnette region. A large Gothic fantasy manor, inspired by the German castle of Neuschwanstein, built between 1903 and 1913, it is decorated with a bas-relief door-top by Clodion, representing a procession of bacchantes, and a stained glass window by Louis Balmet. Classified as a historical monument, it is now a luxury hotel. The setting, at the gateway to the Mercantour and in the heart of the Ubaye valley, is absolutely incredible. The surrounding passes are closed in winter.

Appunto perché la pulizia é a carico del cliente, in alternativa sovrapprezzo. La camera l'abbiamo trovata non pulita, stoviglie e posate sporche come il materasso e cuscini poco curati.
À l’arrivée, vous devez effectuer l’état des lieux par vous-même. Lors de cette inspection, j’ai découvert des cheveux dans le lit, des toilettes sales, ainsi qu’un logement sale rempli de poussière. Il faut payer en supplément pour les draps et les serviettes, et c’est à vous de faire votre lit.
La piscine, présentée comme un atout, ressemble davantage à une piscine municipale, tandis que l’intérieur du bâtiment est très défraîchi. Quant au lieu pour prendre le petit-déjeuner, il rappelle un self-service type Flunch, mais dans une ambiance lugubre.
En somme, cette expérience se rapproche plus d’un séjour dans un hôtel F1 que d’un hébergement digne d’un château. Une honte au prix de la nuit.
