A fort that dominates the village and has a picturesque staircase to access the round tower and then the arms room.

At the end of the 14th century, Colmars, like Entrevaux, became a border town with the Duchy of Savoy (allied to the Spanish) and needed to be protected by a wall. Several forts were added to it, including the Savoy fort, located on a hill to the north of the town, built in 1793. Overlooking the village, it has a picturesque staircase leading to the round tower and the arms room. You can admire the larch wood frames. Exhibitions are presented in each of the four rooms formerly occupied by the garrison.

Opening time and information on HIGH KNOWLEDGE

Open from 01/07 to 31/08, every day from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm. Closed on Monday morning. Out of season, ask the tourist office for information because of the many different opening hours and closing periods. Free until 12 years old. Adults: 5 €. Visits are possible the rest of the year by appointment for groups of 6 people or more and subject to accessibility to the sites. Guided tours are possible on Monday mornings from 10:30 a.m. in July and August upon registration. Adults: 5 €, free for children under 12. Credit card not accepted.

Accueil détestable

Je regrette l'accueil qui m'a été fait lors de ma visite. Plus occupés à se faire des selfies qu'à contrôler les entrées. Comportement pas professionnel et ton désagréable. Je crois que les visiteurs dérangent.
