ST. LAWRENCE CHAPEL
The chapel belongs to the ensemble of the Maison-Dieu, a former hospital-monastery. The façade and the bell tower date from the 12th century. Inside, you will discover a mural decoration made in the 19th century, when the building was transformed into a minor seminary chapel. Admire the dome covered with painted angels as well as the figures of the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, the Fathers of the Church, as well as twenty-six saints of Poitou. Inside, a slab reminds us that Etienne de Vignolles, Joan of Arc's faithful squire, was buried here.
