Petit Futé's opinion on MUSEUM OF ART AND HISTORY OF MONTMORILLON

The local artist, Raoul Carré, donated all of his works at his death. In 1936, his death led to the creation of a museum. Inspired by this gift, other local artists followed suit. After a restructuring of the collections, the museum reopened in 2018. The site offers paintings and drawings (notably by Henri Plisson) from the 18th to the 20th century, on a variety of subjects: rural life, the Montmorillonian countryside, the city, portraits...
