CHÂTEAU DE PICOL ^{* * *}

We have just returned from a wonderful week celebrating our golden wedding anniversary with our family, at this Chateau. The hosts were on site and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble plus they left a very nice welcome hamper with local produce. This chateau was absolutely beautiful with well kept grounds and amazing decor and furniture. The kitchen was especially well equipped and very clean. The bedrooms, all with facilities, were uniquely beautifully furnished and spacious with very comfortable beds. Despite the weather we made good use of the swimming pool, bicycles, table tennis and used the gas BBQ every day. The Chateau was ideally situated, just about 20 minutes walk from the village where there were several excellent bakeries and a farmers' market on Saturdays. There were also two large supermarkets just a short drive from the Chateau. We managed to squeeze in a visit to Futuroscope and La Vallee des Singes (not too long a drive away) which the grandchildren enjoyed and an afternoon spent in Poitiers. All in all a great way to celebrate with our family. Thank you Alla and Christian for letting us stay in your beautiful chateau and being such good hosts.

We had a most memorable stay at Chateau Picol. The place is just like a museum furnished with care and harmoniously decorated with their fine collections.
We were completely impressed by Alla and Christian's work in keeping the Chateau that requires dedication, passion, expertise and collaboration.
The hospitality was outstanding, lovely breakfast and dinner were served in the charming dinning room.
The surrounding garden is peacful and relaxing.
We have no hesitation to recommend Chateau Picol to any prospective guests.

Stunning property doesn't disappoint as you drive through the gates up the drive. Christian is super helpful such as helping me store and set up power for my E-bikes. The property is very comfortable and well equipped and the decor is honest to the Chateau's character and charm. The beds are all comfortable and the showers work well. The descriptions are accurate re pool, kitchen, seating areas and it was a joy listening to the owls in the evening. Would recommend for a large group.
