CHÂTEAU DE THENET

Haims is one of the oldest villages in the Trimouillais. It is mentioned as early as 954 in the form ofAgenti. Numerous ironworks testify to the occupation of the site during Antiquity. The ironworks are sites where man practiced the reduction of iron ore in a low furnace and of which there remains today only residues forming vast red traces. In the green setting of the village, even idyllic, the castle of Thenet has watched over this place for centuries where the lime tree of Henry IV has been enthroned royally since the 16th century.
