One of the best preserved castles of Chauvigny, with a rectangular enclosure, high curtains, and turrets
Château d'Harcourt first belonged to the Lusignan family and then, in the 13th century, passed through marriage to the Harcourt family, before being ceded in 1447 to the bishops of Poitiers, barons of Chauvigny. Rebuilt in the 13th century, it is the best-preserved of the Chauvinois castles. Its almost rectangular enclosure features high curtain walls flanked by solid cylindrical turrets. Two adjoining buildings make up the whole, but only the southern one remains well preserved. A Micro-Folie allows visitors to discover cultural works digitally.

Un musée sur la vie de l'époque avec des costumes et des objets de la région vaut le détour (petit et se fait rapidement). On y retrouve beaucoup d'objets de nos grands-parents (et on comprend à quoi ils servaient)
