Castle built since at least 1389, historical monument with architecture tracing the transition between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance
The castle has existed since at least 1389, when it was first mentioned in writing; it then belonged to Charlotte Mengot. The castle then passed to the Torsay family, then to the Rochechouart family and, between 1458 and 1661, to the Montbron family. It is now classified as a historical monument. It is arranged around a large rectangular building surrounded by two towers. A third pentagonal tower contains the staircase. The architecture of the castle is representative of the transition between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Plan a visit to the garden
