Chateau offering suites and studios, with pool, bar and garden, in a historic setting overlooking the Asse River.

Overlooking the river Asse, this ancient medieval fortress belonged to the barony of Montmorillon. In 1494, Jean1er de Mareuil became the first resident lord. Comprising a garden, chapel, keep, barn, stables... since 2015, Lee and Belinda Prince have been busy restoring this château. Three suites have been fitted out, as well as a self-contained studio and a gîte. A games room and bar have been installed in the former chapel. You can also enjoy the beautiful swimming pool, garden and riverbanks.

I booked for us to stay for my husbands birthday as a surprise as we had always loved the look of this place when we followed the TV programme. Belinda and Lee where amazing hosts and couldn't of done anymore to make our stay perfect. Lee is excellent in giving a tour and discussing the history of the place. As far as the food is concerned it was amazing and would definitely recommend. You won't find better. Thankyou for a lovely stay..we will be back

This was our 4th visit which tells you how great this place is. It really is beautiful and Belinda and Lee are the best hosts, nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is first class and the pool is wonderful for relaxing and keeping cool
