Superb restaurant offering appetizing platters to share.

The home of Alexandre Laroche, master restaurateur. This superb, appetizing restaurant is housed in the halles de Saint-Maixent: you'll need to reserve a table on Saturday, market day, otherwise you won't have a chance to enjoy it. While the restaurant's specialty is its convivial planks (festive, giant, charcuterie, from €14 to €19), the chef offers a host of contemporary dishes, including burgers, shrimp woks and minute skewers cooked in the brazier on the terrace. Gourmets beware: the address has its own pastry chef and some very fine bottles.

We come back to this lovely restaurant every time we are local… never been disappointed. The menu du jour is always delicious, today the prawn risotto was very special. The cafe gourmand is always a must for me. Thoroughly recommended. See you again soon!
