OLD CHAPLAINCY OF ST. GILLES

The chaplaincy is located on rue du Faubourg-Saint-Gilles, on the road leading to Saint-Jean-d'Angély, but it also has the distinction of being on the route to Santiago de Compostela. Founded in the late ^11th century, the building was taken over by the Minimes de la province de Touraine in the early ^17th century, before being sold. Archaeological surveys have revealed evidence of the Compostelle pilgrimage. The monument is listed as a Monument Historique.
