Created in 1996, the craft brewery was taken over in 2011 by the Bertrand family, winemakers and distiller in Chevanceaux. Located in the heart of the island, in Sainte-Marie de Ré, the production tool has been modernized while keeping the artisanal and authentic spirit of the beers produced. To accompany the development of Bières de Ré, the production capacity has now reached 2,000 hectolitres.

Although the modernisation of the brewing and fermentation equipment is important, the recipes that made the brewery successful, such as "Blanche de Ré", are still in use.

The brewery offers 3 traditional beers: the Blanche, the Blonde and the Amb'Ré, 6 Special beers with a great gustative richness: the IPA, the Extra Cognac, the Citrus, the Honey Bee, the Triple Hops and the Déferlante, a powerful white. The traditional beers are also available in organic

Multi medallists, its artisanal beers use neither coloring, nor conservative, nor additive and bet on the quality of the raw materials.

In addition to a selection of local products, biscuits, salt, honey or jams, the spacious shop offers a wide range of drinks produced by Bières de Ré. First of all, a range of artisanal spirits under the brand name "LE PERTUIS" which are elaborated by Mathieu Bertrand, master distiller and blender. Two whiskies matured on the island with a finish in casks of Pineau des Charentes for the Single Cask and a finish in casks of Bourbon, Cognac and Pineau des Charentes for the Pure Malt. A pure and elegant artisanal Vodka. A Gin with delicate aromas of juniper, sublimated by a lemony note. A traditional Pastis and a Blue Pastis with original notes of pepper and wild mint

To accompany its spirits, the Brewery also produces Bio OREA softs, with a lower sweetness and natural aromas, which include a lemonade, a cola and a tonic.
