L'office de tourisme de port des barques est très accessible, avec un parking à proximité. On peut avoir de nombreuses informations sur les choses à voir aux alentours, notamment à Rochefort ou des tours en bateau ou encore sur l'Ile Madame à proximité. Le personnel est sympathique et efficace.
