In Niedersteinbach, Christmas is prepared in an original way with a lovely country market traditionally held in mid-December in front of the hotel-restaurant Au Cheval Blanc. This nice event is organized by the association A.C.T.E.R. (Association des Activités Economiques en Milieu Rural) which rigorously selects exhibitors in order to preserve the authenticity and the good-natured atmosphere of its Christmas market! What wonderful artisanal specialities on the stalls: foie gras, goat's cheese, Christmas logs, jams, honey, organic mare's milk, poultry, cold meats, farmhouse and bredala bread, beers, Cleebourg wines and crémant, brandies and liqueurs... There is also a choice of natural fir trees to decorate, floral arrangements, wooden games and many other gift ideas... To be enjoyed in the afternoon with hot chocolate or mulled wine: the traditional Dampfnudle, delicious steam-blown rolls! So don't forget to visit this charming village in the Northern Vosges next December to stock up on tasty products that you won't find anywhere else...
