Created in 1980, the Asinerie du Baudet du Poitou is part of Echappées Nature. This site is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the oldest breed of donkey in the world: the Baudet du Poitou. The Asinerie is dedicated to presenting its exceptional herd of donkeys in an unspoilt 55-hectare natural environment. Guided tours not only give you the chance to stroke the donkeys (and colts!), but also explain how the site works.
