Chapel of the Commandery in Confolens, registered in the inventory of historical monuments, becoming the property of the commune

On the heights of Confolens, near the fairground square, stands one of the last vestiges in France of the order of the Hospitallers of the Holy Spirit, the Commandery Chapel. Established in the 13th century, the hospital of Confolens was sold as public property in the 18th century. Then, the former chapel was used for everything (barn, garage, etc.) except worship. Today property of the commune, it is registered in the inventory of Historic Monuments.
