L'ATELIER CHARENTAISE

During your visit to La Rochefoucauld, discover a charentaise manufacturing workshop. Created in the 17th century, the charentaise has been manufactured in the La Rochefoucauld area by more than 180 companies representing tens of thousands of employees. These slippers benefit from a unique manufacturing process. During your visit you will discover the particularities of their manufacture, including the method of sewing-returned. The manufacture of the shoe uses quality materials coming from the close sector for the main part of them. But all come from France. A guarantee of seriousness and quality. You will be able to discover each step of the building of this IGP slipper, each element of which circulates in the workshop as the agents holding this century-old know-how work. The company was created in 1907 in the town by the great-grandfather of Mr. Rondineau, the current owner. A long family history, but also a heritage of craftsmanship since some machines are over 60 years old. It is also a matter of experience with some employees who have been in the business for over 35 years. The charentaise is made all year round and even if it is mainly used in winter, because of the use of wool which benefits from a thermoregulatory effect, they are pleasant to wear in summer too. We can't imagine a product that is as Charentais as these charentaises.
