Located at the entrance to the public garden, this museum is located in the Dupuy hotel of Angeac, built around 1838. It also houses works from the th and th centuries, from Mannerism to Fauvism and Contemporary Art, or charentais artists. His collection of paintings from schools in the North testifies to the fruitful relationship between the city and the Netherlands which, let us remember, originated in the invention of cognac! The collection of decorative art objects, mainly in Art Nouveau style, is remarkable because it consists of the glass pieces of Emile Gallé, Daum, Jean Lalique. Pottery, ceramics, tiles, furniture, objects and caps illustrate local traditions. Prehistoric collections will delight the passionate children of dinosaurs… and they are many!
L'éclairage global ne met pas en valeur ces très belles œuvres, néanmoins les explications pour chaque peinture sont claires et précises.
J'ai apprécié l'aspect ludique qui permet dans de nombreuses salles la reconstitution d'une œuvre sous la forme d'un puzzle.
