COGNAC LEOPOLD GOURMEL
Léopold Gourmel cognacs are made, in Gente not far from Cognac, from wines coming from the hilly area of Fins Bois 1er cru, with deep soil and optimal exposure to the full east. These are therefore stronger, richer, more aromatic and more mineral. The distillation is carried out only on balanced wines that age on lees. Distillation is carried out only on balanced wines, high on binding. This is done by the "fat" method which concentrates their aromas to give brandies that are full of ardour. The batches are then separated and age separately until assembly. Aging is carried out in oak barrels from century-old trees with fine grain to obtain delicate flavours of wood to which are added great finesse and extreme complexity. No other colouring elements are used in the composition of their cognacs. As they produce a spontaneous cognac, they use a gentle filtration method to preserve the organoleptic qualities of the product. The house of Gourmel also favours a cultivation method which is in harmony with the environment. Its grapes do not contain any chemical pesticides.
