TEMPLAR CHAPEL
From the order founded by the order of the Templar, the chapel is very stripped. No frills here in this tall building by those who were responsible for protecting the pilgrims. In the Charente region, the latter were particularly numerous on the road to Santiago. This explains that there are almost thirty-three foundations of Templar in the department. After the dissolution of the order, the Center's sect was entrusted to the Hospitals, other military nuns responsible for the care of pilgrims. After having belonged to the order of Saint John in Jerusalem, she became a national of the Revolution and made to worship in 1844. It has been a parish church since 1874. Today, the surrounding area is located in the park of the high chestnut trees. In a corner, the th century communal oven, perhaps installed in the oven of the dish, has been completely restored. It is still used on some occasions. The Chapel is well signposted from the centre of Châteaubernard.
