XAVIER MAFFRE
Aubeterre-sur-Dronne is a charming village in France, and home to a unique pottery store called "Poterie de la Passiflore". Run by Xavier Maffre, a passionate ceramist, the store offers a selection of handmade ceramic objects. The workshop is housed in an old cowshed, where most pieces are made on the wheel from local clay. Xavier Maffre's pottery is influenced by the shapes, colors and materials of ancient ceramics. The workshop also offers a traditional throwing method known as the "rope wheel", in which pottery is shaped from a wooden shell covered with coiled rope. Finally, Xavier Maffre boasts an impressive wood-fired kiln called the "Anagama", which offers unique firing and incomparable beauty to the pottery. A visit to Poterie de la Passiflore is an unmissable experience for lovers of art and ceramics.
