This chapel bears the name of Saint Arnoult in tribute to the bishop of the same name who lived under the reign of Clovis. This missionary, who carried out numerous pilgrimages between Tours, Poitiers and Reims, was massacred in the Yvelines forest and buried in Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines in the th century. The chapel belonged to the Clermont Hospital in 1686, it was destroyed in 1783 but another was raised in the same year a little above the former.
