On Saturday 2 April, the Puy du Fou received the Oscar for the Best Creation in the World for "Les Amoureux de Verdun", at the 2016 Thea Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Considered the "Oscars" of the global entertainment industry, the Thea Awards have been celebrating excellence in the creation of entertainment venues and visitor experiences for nearly 20 years. They also reward the major achievements that have marked the Entertainment world throughout the world. Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), representing more than 700 parks and shows in some 40 countries, has chosen to reward the Puy du Fou for the technical and artistic excellence of the "Lovers of Verdun". This extraordinary creation, inaugurated in 2015, depicts the Great War in a spectacular, moving and immersive way, through the epistolary exchange of a Hairy man with his fiancée in the middle of the Christmas truce of 1916. This prize confirms the international scope of the Puy du Fou, after being twice voted Best Park in the World with the Thea Classic Award in 2012 and the Applause Award in 2014. This new major international award salutes the originality of the Puy du Fou, which in just a few years has become the world reference in the world of theme parks and shows
