C' À LA FERME

Local producer

Based on the family farm, Céline and Éric Chevalier raise dairy cows, fed on locally-grown fodder, mainly grass, a little corn and cereals, all based on "reasoned" farming practices. Part of their milk is processed into fresh and mature cheeses, sold in the farm store, which also offers jams, jellies and chutneys concocted by Christine Jardin with produce from her orchard and vegetable garden in nearby Saint-Jean-d'Assé. It has to be said, too, that it's a family affair: Christine grew up on La Tournerie farm, and Christine and Céline are also sisters-in-law.

Bakery

At the helm of this bakery-pastry shop is one of the village's two, Charlène Milcent and Jérémy Pancher, who took over the business in October 2021. However, in the months following their installation, roadworks on Avenue du Mans severely disrupted access to their store. After a difficult year, these two courageous and hard-working craftsmen have seen their customers return, appreciating the improvement brought about by the roadworks, which have created parking spaces and made their bakery more attractive. The baker's talent did the rest. His crunchy baguette is particularly popular.
