Visit of the museum which shows the different stages of slate exploitation with an extraction well in Renazé.

Slate has long been the rhythm of life in Renazé. The first mention of the work of this blue gold dates back to 1456. Whether they were underground miners (they went down to 300 m) or slate splitters on the surface, the old-timers bring the museum to life today. A reconstructed site shows the different stages of slate mining, with its extraction shaft. The guided tour lasts 2h30. There is also a room devoted to local, regional and national geology.

Musée très intéressant qui montre le travail des mineurs et des fendeurs d' ardoise.
Beaucoup d' outillage, machines et vieux objets. Et surtout la visite est guidée par d' anciens ouvriers du lieu ce qui lui donne encore plus d' intérêt .
