The hardest part is to choose among the selection, but fortunately, the team is of good advice and proposes a tasting.

You'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to this distillery's products: of course there's "L'Original Combier", a liqueur made from sweet and bitter oranges, known as Triple Sec, but also other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages such as fruit creams, syrups, Guignolet d'Anjou, gin or absinthes, and even preparations for traditional Angevine or saumuroise soups. Take advantage of the guided tour and tastings to find out more about the different products, and make your choice in the boutique.

Opening time and information on DISTILLERIE COMBIER

High season: open from 10am to 7pm. Open daily from June to September and in December. Low season: opening days and times can be consulted at www.combier.fr. Visits for groups of 10 or more all year round, by reservation only. Visit + tasting €6, free for under-18s. Guided tours (booking recommended) from April to October. Tourism & Handicap label.

Owner's Message

The Combier Distillery is one of the oldest in the Loire Valley. Founded in 1834, it has always been active in the very heart of the town of Saumur. It benefits from its position in the centre of the Garden of France to source local products: fruits, flowers and aromatic plants and takes advantage of the arrival of exotic fruits and spices via the Loire. Throughout its history of almost two centuries, its master distillers with their unique know-how, travellers, gardeners, cooks, engineers and daring and innovative thinkers have constantly created new elixirs that constitute an exceptional French heritage, recognised since 2016 by the label Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company)

L'odeur d'orange nous cueille dès notre entrée dans la salle des alambics, meilleur moment de la visite.
Celle-ci est intéressante, mais un peu courte.
La multitude de produits proposée en dégustation et donc en vente est impressionnante, il y en a pour tous les goûts, avec ou sans alcool !
Je recommande leurs sirops, certains parfums sont très originaux.
