With fresh produce and great adaptability, quality is the order of the day. From home-smoked salmon and elaborate dishes (chicken à l'indienne, poultry ballottine with basil...) to cocktail formulas or gourmet menus (Breton sablé with basil jelly and bell pepper cream with mascarpone, pike-perch pavé with beurre blanc or vanilla cream...), each dish is an explosion of flavors.

The name of the Cav'eau vin-coeur alone sums up the spirit that reigns in this warm and friendly cellar located at the entrance to the Nantes vineyard road. Run by Jean-Claude, Jérôme and Gilles, the place offers wines from all over France, some foreign wines, whiskies and rums. Here, you will find your happiness among the diversity of wines chosen with care by Jean-Claude who regularly visits many wine growers for his demanding selection. People come here to find good wine at different budgets, to listen to sound advice and to share a moment of conviviality. In spring and summer, the rosé tastings and in autumn the Beaujolais tastings are events not to be missed!

Olivier Hodebert, finalist of the World Winery Championship in 2003 and 2005, is the happy patron of the Cellar of the Inawaa in Vertou. Its team and it open the doors of this cellar to the 1,000 treasures. A fine wine proposal that he has all tasted himself, demands and professional conscience oblige. The proposed bottles were selected directly from the producer. For Olivier, wine is first and foremost the man and the land that gives it. This friendly and affordable place is perfect for discovering French and foreign treasures. The staff were very friendly and helpful. To note, the cellar of the Inwait is also a very good restaurant.

Known for their production of apples and pears grown in organic and biodynamic agriculture, the Coteaux nantais offer about forty varieties of apples, ten varieties of pears, as well as quinces, kiwis, strawberries and peaches. Alongside the classics, Golden or Belle de Boskoop, Conference or William pears, there are also lesser-known varieties such as the Delsavor, the President Heron pear, the Patte de Loup apple or the Topaz. Dreaming of a creamery in the heart of Vertou? They've done it! Since January 2021, your wish has been granted by Frédéric. This former sales manager found that there was a shortage of cheese shops in his home town, so he gave up his job to set up his own cheese shop. A team joined him in this adventure. And it's with passion and enthusiasm that the two of them welcome you to this pretty place with its whitewashed beams and exposed brickwork enhanced by a touch of celadon. Let us advise you on a range of classic and lesser-known cheeses, such as Comté 18/23 months, Blue Shropshire, farmhouse Mothais and a delicious homemade creamy Burgundy made with Brillat-Savarin and truffles. Those with a sweet tooth will be delighted by Bordier yoghurts or the famous rice pudding from Éclats de riz. Of course, a selection of wines, beers, arranged rums, ciders and fruit juices is available to accompany your choice of cheeses. But also organic farm eggs, sausages and delicatessen products. A great initiative that promotes local products!

"Le Pain des Vendanges has arrived", reads the sign. Here, everything inspires curiosity, starting with the original "surprise" éclairs! 12 different kinds of eclairs, pear-ginger, milk jam-brownies, peanut-milk chocolate, gingerbread... Frissons Citron, Double Choc, which Delphine's talented pastry chefs make delicious. Easter chocolates, homemade ice creams for schoolchildren at the start of the new school year. Ma Boulangerie is 10 years of craftsmanship mixed with little touches. Like the coconut-mango-passion saint-honoré. Who does it? Apprentice baker Léa, Sandra in the store... a whole team dedicated to giving you good bread.

DOMAINE DES TROIS TOITS

The domain, located in Vertou, in the Nantes metropolis, has existed since the dawn of time. Vincent Barbier and Cécile Perraud, who took over, work their vines with passion. Organic for 5 years with a practice of biodynamics, they have agronomy in their DNA. In their rows, they plant rye which provides nitrogen to the vines and avoids weeding. The result is a natural mulch for a regenerative agriculture. Their wines? Muscadets, big plants, French wines declined in several ranges: Domaine, Jules Verne, Bulles and Grapes. The Sèvre valley offers beautiful colors to their communal cru La Haye-Fouassière. Aged in 24 months. The name "Les Trois Toits" refers to the architecture of the building with three frames. It is made of schist stone. An estate and a winery that can be visited by reserving for groups.

In the vineyard of Nantes, in Vertou, the charming Domaine de la Chevrue is a place with multiple resources. First of all, its viticultural aspect thanks to Yannick Leblé, winegrower for 5 generations, who welcomes us with a smile, to make us taste his production. This passionate oenologist works on his 25 ha farm to produce and sell Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur lie, gros plant du Pays Nantais, Chardonnay, Gamay red or rosé, Egiodola rosé or red as well (Basque name but 100% local production!), sparkling wine (Perles de la Chevrue) and grape juice or sparkling wine (without alcohol)... Our favorite is undeniably the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur lie which has received many distinctions and deserves to be tasted in the magnificent cellar with buildings dating for some from the XVIIth century! Finally, the accommodation section is not left out: you can spend the night in the heart of the Nantes vineyard since the Domaine welcomes motor-home owners with 24-hour services (shower, sanitary facilities, picnic table...) who wish to sleep on the site of the Domaine and this free of charge with France Passion or with the Park4night application, which is very appreciated by local and foreign tourists. Moreover, Yannick and his family also have a 4-person gîte for rent in the heart of the vineyard, 20 minutes from Nantes! Beautiful meetings in perspective with the validation of the label Caves Touristiques, all that in the respect of the nature with the approval of the network HVE (High Environmental Value)! Congratulations to this beautiful family! Taste the new vintage of the family Viognier de la Chevrue !

Strawberry eclair, chocolate-raspberry macaroon, vanilla mille-feuilles... at Stéphane Pasco, the pastry shop innovates for the pleasure of the eyes and the taste buds. Each of his creations offers a refined aesthetic, like his shop with its modern lines and declined in black, grey and fuchsia tones; all in a great respect of flavours. This Nantes native set up his own business in 2011, in the town centre of Vertou (next to the music school), with his sister, Isabelle. In particular, he did his apprenticeship with Jean-Paul Hevin, an international relay-dessert and "meilleur ouvrier de France". Lemon pie, Paris-Brest, Impérial (vanilla mousse, Granny Smith compote, almond dacquoise), pineapple cake, quarter quarter Yuzu... but also ice cream, glasses, sweets, chocolates, petits fours, pastries, set pieces... the hardest thing is to choose. If you wish to imitate the chef, Stéphane Pasco regularly gives pastry classes in his laboratory (in the Vertonne area) on Saturday afternoons (registration in the shop). Since 2019, a second shop in Nantes welcomes you in the Cité des Congrès district.

LA MAISON DE LA POMME

If you like apples, you'll love picking them yourself at the Maison de la Pomme. This family business has been opening its orchards to individuals every year from the beginning of September to mid-October for 50 years. It practices integrated and organic farming and offers about twenty varieties of apples and five varieties of pears (also cherries, queens, kiwis). Signs indicate where each variety can be found, and if you are unsure, you can taste at the reception desk to get an idea before filling your crates and wheelbarrow.
