An elephant made of wood, leather and metal, 12 m high, circulates through the naval quarters, spraying passers-by.

The famous pachyderm lives on the Ile de Nantes, under the naves of the Galerie des Machines. This elephant made of wood, leather and metal is 12 m high and weighs 48 tons. It moves around the shipyard district, spraying passers-by with water. You climb on its back from its steel cathedral to the Carroussel des Mondes Marins where it drops you off for a ride. An unusual walk of about 30 minutes to discover the old site of the shipyards and the quays of the Loire.

In summer, open every day: departures from 10:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. The rest of the year, days and times vary according to the season. Information by phone or on the website. Each ticket gives access to the terraces of the Atelier de la Machine and to the prototype branch of the Arbre aux Hérons. Vacation vouchers. Only guide dogs accepted.

Wir hatten gutes Glück,keine Karte zu haben. Die gibt es nur online! Dort stand eine lange Schlange und leider,könnten sie es nicht fahren ,da die Technik nicht funktionierte. Gerne hätten wir es in Bewegung gesehen. Eun beeindruckendes Werk
