THE ROSE GARDEN OF THE PARC FLORAL DE LA BEAUJOIRE
The rose garden in the Parc Floral de la Beaujoire, a place where you can discover the Allee des Fragrances in Nantes
In the heart of the Beaujoire floral park, the most varied rose garden in France covers 15 hectares with 20,000 roses, including 1,600 different varieties. Inaugurated in 1988, it was Roland Jancel, then director of green spaces, who had the idea of representing the rose garden circuit in the form of a rose plan: the paths would be the stems and the 31 plots or pergolas, the flowers. We discover "l'allée des Fragrances", which hosts the roses from the Nantes Fragrance Rose competitions, "Le Clos des Médaillés", including the Catherine Deneuve rose, or "L'allée des vieilles gloires". "The flowerbed of the simple" presents plants with medicinal properties used in the Middle Ages.
