THE PARK OF THE GAUDINIÈRE
Park located on a hillside in Nantes, equipped with games for children.
Situated on a hillside and crossed by the Patouillerie stream, a tributary of the Cens, this richly wooded 12.5-hectare park was created in the 18th century and bought by the town in 1936. In spring, 300,000 bulbous plants offer the magical spectacle of their blooms: crocuses, narcissi, tulips, hyacinths and rhododendrons. Nevertheless, the park retains a wild, mountain-like character, with rock gardens, waterfalls and a large pond... Curiosity: will you find it? The monumental Val de Cens staircase. Strollers can extend their discovery of this enchanting site on foot or by bike along the entire length of the Valley, in the direction of the faculties, by following... the Cens! All the way to its confluence with the Erdre. To do this, cross Boulevard du Petit-Port and follow the sports complex on the left. The park is equipped with children's play equipment. Don't miss the largest sequoia in Nantes and the alpine rockery.
