OUR LADY OF GOOD PORT CHURCH
Dedicated to the Virgin Mary and then to Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Port, this church was rebuilt in the nineteenth century. Located at the location of a church founded in 1458 by René de Rais (or Retz), lord of Bourgneuf-en-Retz, as well as an ancient chapel dated from the xiiith century, it is the work of the architect Gilée and the sculptors Potet and Vallet. Remarkable by its granite pillars to stone capitals, its altar and its marble marble tabernacle, the church Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Port is also distinguished by the lid of the baptismal fonts, work of a craftsman of Bourgneuf. The crucifix of wood dating from the fifteenth century is classified at Historic Monuments. In 1975, for reasons of vintage, the beautiful stone nef was replaced by a paneled ceiling, which was lowered by several meters. As for the bell, it was recently restored.
