A coast battery that was used to defend the port of Boulogne during the First World War in Wimereux.
From a natural promontory 76 m high, the Fort de la Crèche overlooks the Nord-Pas-de-Calais Strait. It is a coastal battery, whose construction dates back to 1879. It was used to defend the port of Boulogne during the First World War. Modernized after the war with the addition of several cannons and a powerful searchlight, it is part of the famous "Atlantic Wall" built by the Germans during the Occupation.
