Valley of the Zouaves Cemetery with graves and memorials in over 23,000 sites in over 150 countries
The Valley of the Zouaves Cemetery takes its name from the French regiments that fought in the commune during the Great War. Built in the spring of 1916, it was used until 1917. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is responsible for the commemoration of the nearly 1,700,000 members of the Commonwealth forces who lost their lives in the two world wars. The graves and memorials are located at over 23,000 sites in more than 150 countries.
