THE MAYVILLE DUNES

The great ecological richness of these dunes brings to the pleasure of the hike that of the discovery. The landscapes follow one another: those of the beaches and white dunes where the oyats trap the sand, those of the grey dunes and their dune thickets of elder and sea buckthorn, those of the dunes wooded with trees such as the poplar. In these environments, look out for the local fauna and flora: the Curtis violet, also known as the dune pansy, the green argus, a butterfly with emerald wings, or the shy Cetti's warbler with its melodious song.
