The region's religious heritage includes prestigious cathedrals and churches with numerous chapels.
With magnificent buildings such as Notre-Dame de la Treille Cathedral in Lille and Saint-Martin Church in Roubaix, the Lille metropolitan area boasts a rich religious heritage. However, this heritage is not only made up of prestigious cathedrals and churches, but also of the many small chapels that dot the area, bearing witness to a rich history. Unfortunately, this history is in danger of being forgotten, as many of these chapels are neither maintained nor promoted. To remedy this situation, the Chapelles&CO association was created in 2011. At the helm? Passionate about heritage, culture and, above all, their region. Today, the association has already identified a large number of chapels and niches in need of renovation or at least preservation and enhancement: several dozen spread across Bousbecque, Hellemmes, Lille, Mons-en-Baroeul, Roubaix, Saint-André-lez-Lille, Wambrechies and Wattrelos. To achieve this, the association is calling on sponsors. By becoming a sponsor, you receive the keys to your chosen chapel, and undertake to maintain it and organize campaigns to raise its profile, putting the chapel back at the heart of local concerns.
