The Montech water slope, inaugurated in 1974, represents the river economy of yesteryear, and is now a public reception area

Inaugurated in 1974, the Montech water slope is a boat elevator located on the Canal Latéral à la Garonne. A testament to the river economy of yesteryear, the site has been renovated to welcome the public and showcase the region's river heritage. Its layout features a number of emblematic elements of the region: the green vélovoie running alongside the canal, the former Montech paper mill, the water slope machinery, several hiking trails and an exhibition area.

Great little museum of a now obsolete lock along the Garonne canal. Excellent stop for cyclist to learn local French water transport technology. Well with the stop! Museum is gratis.
