Castle at the top of the cliff overlooking the confluence of the Vère and the Aveyron, with 2 exhibitions, one of which is on prehistory

Classified as a historical monument since 1840, the building (12th, 13th and 17th centuries) is built at the top of the cliff that dominates the confluence of the Vère and the Aveyron, on the site of an ancient Roman castrum. Property of the Counts of Toulouse in the 12th century, it was divided in the 15th century between two branches of the House of Comminges, which explains the current division into a Young Castle and an Old Castle. Two permanent exhibitions: one on the filming of the movie " Le Vieux Fusil" (The Old Gun), shot in these walls; the other on prehistory (Neanderthal site).

Bruni quel est un charmant petit village perché. Les petites ruelles, tout en pierre, nous laissent nous évader. Et tout cela à l'abri de commerce en tout genre. Bref charme conservé et authenticité. La visite du château est un plus, tarif largement abordable ! Laissez vous charmer !

Bruniquel est un village perché avec ses petites ruelles et qui a su se préserver de l'envahissement de commerces en tout genre et garder son côté pittoresque.
La visite découverte du château est passionnante et vaut le détour, et ce que le tarif de visite est purement symbolique.

Deux châteaux magnifiques, le vieux et le jeune, qui surplombent les falaises et la vallée de l'Aveyron dans un très beau village. La rénovation est en cours, avec la salle d'apparat qui vient d'être restaurée et sa très belle cheminée. Les lieux ont servi au tournage du film "le vieux fusil", auquel est consacré une salle d'exposition. Vous pouvez aussi découvrir dans une autre pièce, une galerie où sont exposés des vestiges préhistoriques trouvés dans les grottes des alentours. Le site est entouré d'un beau jardin médiéval. Nous avons fait sa découverte en assistant début août à un opéra bouffe, dans le cadre du festival OFFENBACH, spectacle nocturne dans l'enceinte du château.
